What Kind Of A Church Are We?
We are what many would call a contemporary/traditional mixed Spirit-filled church. The church is Bible based, and Jesus is the central focus.  Though we have "First" as part of our name, we do not claim to be the first, best, or the only church of God. We use the word to better identify ourselves within our community. We are affiliated with the Church of God, based in Anderson, Indiana. We are evangelical church movement with a strong emphasis upon unity, salvation, and holiness.

Where Are You Located?
The church is conveniently located on Middle River Road, 1/4 mile east of US 40 (Pulaski Hwy) in the Middle River/White Marsh area of northeast Baltimore county.  We are an easy 15 minute drive from downtown Baltimore and Harford county.

GuitarWhat Kind Of Music Do You Sing?
Our talented worship team provides a balanced approach to praise and worship music.  With passionate and upbeat styles of music blended with spirit-led, worshipful and meditative songs that help people connect with God in an intimate way. We blend familiar meaningful music from todays' leading song writers like Hillsong, Paul Baloche, Chris Tomlin, Vineyard, Third Day, Matt Redman, as well as embracing traditional choruses and hymns.

What should I wear?
Come as you are!  Most of us show up to church dressed in business casual.  We are not hung up on suits, ties, and fancy dresses, so feel free to wear something comfortable.

Do You Have Childcare?
Our ministry is for the whole family. During our morning worship service, we provide a children’s church for ages first through the sixth grade. Four & five year olds have their own class, and those who are three and under can enjoy our professional childcare from the very beginning of the service in the nursery.

Do you have home or cell groups?
Yes! We are beginning new small groups within the life of the church.  In fact, we call them “Life Groups” and they will serve as a vehicle for ministry, outreach, and relationship building.  Life groups meet at various times each month, so speak with the pastor for details.

How often do you partake of communion?
Communion is typically served on the first Sunday of every month and also available by request from the pastor.

How can I get involved?
We conduct informal meetings called Discovery 101 on a regular basis. At First Church of God of Middle River, you will hear from Pastor Scott and other church leaders regarding the vision, beliefs, and government of church.  We have designed this meeting to acquaint you with the mission and practices so that you can make an informed decision regarding your role in the life of the church.
