Our Affiliations

The First Church of God of Middle River is voluntarily affiliated with the Church of God Ministries, which is based in Anderson, Indiana.  (For more information about Church of God Ministries, please visit: www.chog.org).

While we have this affiliation with Church of God Ministries, we also have a great deal of autonomy.  Church of God Ministries is a movement, not a denomination and as such, you can walk into two different Church of God congregations and find that no two pastors are alike nor the two churches.

We are unique in that the movement has over 2400 congregations in the U.S. and nearly 7000 across the world; but, still do not declare ourselves as a denomination.  We have prided ourselves over the years to “extend the hand of fellowship to every blood washed one.”  In other words, salvation automatically makes you a member of God’s church.

The movement of Church of God Ministries is designed to serve the local and international church while leaving the leadership process and presence within the local church setting.  We have a unique heritage and foundational structure that has placed salvation, unity, and holiness as its distinctives.
