Do I Need Salvation?

The Bible clearly informs us that all of humanity was created perfect by God. In fact, the scriptures clearly spell out that that we were created in His image. But, through the choice of Adam and Eve to disobey the command of God, all have sinned (Romans 3:23) and are separated from God.  Because of our spiritual condition, we all must die (Romans 6:23) both a physical and a spiritual death.

God loves us!  He does!  He loved us so much that he paid the price for our lives by sending His son Jesus to die in our place (John 3:16).  This means there is nothing that I can do to repay for my sins.  I cannot do enough good things in this lifetime to repay for my sinful life.  God paid the price through the death of His son Jesus Christ.  That is a huge price for us!

The price that was paid does require something from us though.  Just because Jesus went to the cross doesn’t mean that it is a free pass without requiring something from us.  We must make the choice to accept the gift of His forgiveness.  So, how do you do that?

You must acknowledge:

  • That you are a sinner.  (Romans 3:23)
  • That Jesus Christ died for your sins on the cross (John 3:16)
  • Confess to God that you are a sinner and request His forgiveness
  • Accept the promise (1 John 1:9) that if you confess your sins that He will forgive you.

If you are genuine in your desire to have forgiveness and new life, then God will provide you with hope, faith, love, and joy to your heart.  But, it doesn’t stop there, it gives you power to conquer over sin.

The question is… will you accept the call to salvation?
